FAQ

Common questions

What is Atrium?

Atrium is a free personal media tracker that lets you log, rate, and organise movies, TV shows, anime, books, manga, video games, and comics — all in one unified library. It was built because no single app tracked every type of media worth caring about.

Who is behind Atrium?

I'm David, and Atrium is a passion project born out of a very personal frustration. I consume a lot — films, series, anime, games, books, manga, comics — and as a data person, I genuinely love tracking it all: rating things, ranking them, looking back years later to remember exactly what I thought and when. But I could never find one app that covered every type of media I cared about. So I built it. Atrium is the tracker I always wanted. If that sounds familiar, I think you'll feel at home here. I'm always happy to hear from people using it — reach out on LinkedIn anytime.Connect on LinkedIn

Is Atrium free to use?

Yes. Tracking your library, importing from other apps, and exporting your data will always be free — no exceptions and no credit card required.

What types of media can I track with Atrium?

Movies, TV shows, anime, books, manga, video games, and comics. You can log status (watching, finished, dropped), ratings, dates, and notes across all media types from a single dashboard.

What can I import into Atrium?

Currently, Atrium supports imports from Letterboxd, Steam, and custom CSV files, including ratings, dates, and notes where the source provides them. More import sources will follow; the goal is to support the most common media apps.

Can I export my data from Atrium?

Yes. You can export a full backup of your library at any time. Your data belongs to you — Atrium never locks you in.

Will Atrium ever charge for features I currently use?

No. Everything you can access in Atrium today is yours to keep, free forever. As Atrium grows, I may introduce new features and eventually an optional Pro tier to help sustain the project—and, honestly, let me keep building it as more than a side project if it gains traction. If you're using Atrium before that happens, you'll be automatically grandfathered into Pro for life at no cost. That means you'll keep access to all current features, plus any future features included in Pro. Being here early has real, permanent value.

How does Atrium compare to Letterboxd, Goodreads, or Backloggd?

Those apps each cover one media type extremely well. Atrium covers all of them — movies, TV, anime, books, manga, games, and comics — in a single unified library with cross-media stats and a consistent experience. If you consume more than one type of media, Atrium is the only tracker built for you.

Why do I need to create an account?

A free account lets Atrium save your library across sessions and keep it tied to you, rather than leaving it only in one browser. It also enables personalised recommendations, progress tracking, statistics, and achievements. Atrium uses Clerk for authentication and asks for only the account information needed to provide these features, such as your email address and optional profile details.

What personal data does Atrium collect?

Atrium collects the account and library information needed to run the service: your email address, optional profile details, and the media, ratings, statuses, dates, and notes you choose to add. Technical logs and a session cookie help keep Atrium secure and signed in. Atrium does not sell personal data, use your library to train machine-learning models, or share it with advertisers.
