FAQ
Questions about watch time
How long does it take to watch a whole TV show?
It depends on the number of episodes and how long they run. A ten-episode drama can take under ten hours, while long anime run to hundreds. Search for a show above and the calculator adds up every aired episode's running time and shows the total in hours and in days.
Where do the running times come from?
From TMDB, The Movie Database, which lists a running time for each episode and film. The calculator adds those up episode by episode. When TMDB has no running time for an episode, it uses the show's usual episode length and marks the season as estimated.
Are specials and unaired episodes counted?
No. Specials, which TMDB keeps apart from the numbered seasons, aren't counted, and neither are episodes that haven't aired yet. For a show that's still running, the total covers every episode that has aired so far.
Can I count only the seasons I have left?
Yes. Pick the season you're starting from and the calculator adds up that season and everything after it, so you can see how long it takes to catch up on a show you've already started, or to finish a long anime from a given arc.
Does watching at a faster speed change the total?
Yes. Pick a playback speed from 1x to 2x and every figure updates, from the total hours to the days it takes at your pace. Watching at 1.5x turns a 30-hour show into a 20-hour one.
Is the calculator free?
Yes. It's free, needs no account, and nothing you search for is saved to any account or profile. Atrium, the free media tracker that runs it, can also keep track of where you are in each show once you start watching.
