How long to beat your Steam backlog
Paste your Steam profile and see how many hours your unplayed and half-finished games would take to beat, and which ones you could finish this weekend.
The short answer
To see how long your Steam backlog would take, paste your Steam profile link above. Atrium reads the games on your public profile, looks up how long each one takes to beat on IGDB, takes off the hours you've already played, and adds up the rest. It's free and needs no sign-in.
How it works
How to add up your Steam backlog
- Step 1
Copy your Steam profile link
Open your profile on Steam and copy the address, such as steamcommunity.com/id/yourname. Your Steam ID or custom URL name works too.
- Step 2
Make your game details public
In Steam, open Edit Profile, then Privacy Settings, and set My profile and Game details to Public. Steam only shares the games on a public profile.
- Step 3
See your backlog
Paste the link above. You'll see the hours left to beat everything, the games you've never launched, and the shortest ones to start with.
The result
What the calculator shows
- Hours left to beat your whole Steam library
- Main, Main + Extras or Completionist times from IGDB
- Hours you've already played taken off each game
- Days it takes at the hours a day you pick

FAQ
Questions about your Steam backlog
How do I find out how long my Steam backlog is?
Paste your Steam profile link into the calculator above. It reads the games on your public Steam profile, finds each game's time to beat on IGDB, subtracts the hours you've already played and adds up what's left. You also see how many games you've never launched.
Where do the times to beat come from?
From IGDB, the Internet Game Database, whose players report how long they took to finish each game. Main is the main story only, Main + Extras adds side content, and Completionist means doing everything. Games IGDB has no time for are listed separately and left out of the total.
Why does it say my Steam profile is private?
Steam only shares the games on a profile whose game details are public. In Steam, open your profile, choose Edit Profile, then Privacy Settings, and set My profile and Game details to Public. You can set them back to private once you've seen your backlog.
Which games count as my backlog?
Every game you haven't finished: games you've never launched, and games you've started, with the hours you've played taken off. Games you've played for 10 hours or more and haven't touched in three months count as done, the same way Atrium reads a Steam library when you import it.
Is my Steam profile saved?
No. The calculator reads your public games list and adds up the times. The list sits in a short-lived cache under your Steam ID for about an hour, so a reload is quick, as it does for a Steam import. Nothing is saved to an account or linked to you.
Can I track my backlog as I play through it?
Yes. Atrium, the free media tracker that runs this calculator, can import your Steam library in a minute. Your games land in Plan to Play, Playing or Completed with their playtime, and each game page shows its time to beat.
